New tires

As I mentioned in last Wednesday’s post I ordered a tubeless system to convert the 717’s to UST. I started the installation and it didn’t go very smooth. I followed the directions that came with the Eclipse system and it didn’t work. The sealant didn’t get all the holes and ended up leaking out. With the second tire I followed the Stans directions using soap, a compressor, and shaking the tire which worked. I ordered some more sealant which should be in Monday and I’ll get the other tire mounted and I’ll post some pics. My new derailleur won’t be in until Monday so the delay isn’t an issue. My goal was going to be ready to ride for the Price Racefest on the 15th but it’s been canceled so I’ll do some riding out on the San Rafael Swell instead with the in-laws.

I’m hoping that the rain clears out early today and I can ride tonight after work since I haven’t been on the bike since Monday. I need to get out since it looks like the annual Moab suffer-fest is still on in two weeks. Are you still going Stupidbike?
