The bug bites

Looks the flu bug is still around. Sunday I was planning on doing a nice 3 hour ride and trying the Suncrest climb but as I was starting out of Bluffdale my legs said no. I decided to ride to the mouth of Little Cottonwood canyon then back home for a short 2 hour ride. I should have just stayed home. I don’t know if the ride had anything to do with it but I was nauseous and had a fever most of the night Sunday and yesterday. I feel better today. 5lbs lighter today although I would rather exercise my weight off then loose it by getting sick. It’s raining again which is okay since today is generally my day off the bike.

I think the tires are done. I had some issues with the front tire. I had a lot of problems getting the bead to pop into place, but I’m hoping it will hold. After 36 hours it still has air in it so I’m hoping it will hold. I ordered a new rear derailleur which should be here today. I’m going to give the rapid rise a try. I ran non-rapid rise most of last year with my rapid rise shifters and I really didn’t like the force it took to shift down, so I’m going to try the RR system.

Here is the picture of the day. Kathy Sherwin is showing us how to eat mud at the Sea Otter race.
