Yea yea yea, yesterday was turkey day. I think I did pretty well food wise. I made an effort to fill my plate with one piece of turkey and then load up on veggies. I did go back for 3rds on my mother-in-law's stuffing. mmm Homemade stuffing.
Thursday morning I don't think I was awake yet and must have still been asleep when I agreed to participate in the Huntington Turkey Trot 5k. We got to the venue and the thermometer said 22. What was I thinking! There were about 40 or 50 people lined up, hey this is small town Utah including two guys and a girl from the local high school track team. At the gun I started off with the lead group. The girl and two guys shot off the front with the girl in the lead. (I've ridden with Kathy S so being beat by a girl is nothing new). About 2 minutes into the race I had to stop and tie my shoe. (Did I mention I've never ran a race before?) Lost the lead group and spent the next 10 minutes trying to bridge up to them before I got it through my brain, I'm running, drafting another runner isn't going to help! Any how, managed to finish in 26:15 not sure if that is a good time or not, but I'm not a runner.
