What a weekend. I'm not a fan of posts without pics but my camera is still Laketown and I probably won't see it again until LOTOJA. I guess I could use the phone to take pics.
Saturday was supposed to be the last big ride before LOTOJA around Bear Lake but getting to bed late Friday night meant we didn't get out of bed until 8:30. We decided that riding horses sounded much more fun then riding on chip-seal and suffering in the heat anyway.
Sunday I was determined to ride so I met up with Deer Mouse, Fist of Fury, Redneck Bob, and the taller half of Team Shannifer for a mountain ride around PC. I really wanted to quit after 2 hours of actual ride time which was around 3 hours since we started the ride. Deer Mouse told me to man up and finish the ride so I did. Isn't peer pressure great? Legs weren't as strong the second half of the ride but everyone was nice and waited for me on the climbs.
I didn't get in as many long rides as I would like before LOTOJA but my fitness actually feels better than last year. I know what to expect this year and if the weather holds I should be able to beat my pathetic time of 11 hours from last year.
