I also lifted on two days and got three days of cardio in. This all cumulated in the not very wise idea of deciding to see where my fitness is by riding up to Suncrest
and back on Saturday. The weather was great! Too bad the pics are bad.
I originally was going to ride to the gas station in Highland and back over to get two really good climbs in, but once I started up the mountain I knew that wasn’t going to happen. Although my legs felt strong I wasn’t able to keep a very high cadence and ended up running 50-60 rpms most of the way up. Coming back down it was pretty sketchy with the cross wind. Looks like rain and snow off and on through Christmas so I’m not sure if there will be any outdoor riding in the near future.

Hopefully we'll get a few more dry days in December. I hate vacations where I can't ride outside!
Hey, did you race Hell of the North as a Cat 5 this year? I just read your season summary and I think I was the "late charge" you held off at the end! I passed a Cole Sport rider on the last lap with probably 100 yards to go and figured I was good only to get passed right back. From your description I'm guessing it was you, assuming you raced Cat 5. That was a fun race. :)
Yea that was me, I made sure I stayed on your wheel when you passed so I could try and at least take the finish. At least we had good weather!
I really liked that race and I'm looking forward to doing it this year. I know a lot of people don't like the dirt but coming from a mountain bike background I like the challenge of the dirt.
