It's never casual...

Arranged with Utrider to do an "easy" ride after work. If it's one thing I've learned, if you have more than one rider with similar riding abilities, it somehow either turns into a race or a faster pace then it's supposed to be. It it just me and my competitive drive that just tries to test other riders or is this the norm?

Things were going great until we started up 124th south to the mouth of Butterfield canyon, after a few minutes of climbing I looked down and noticed what was supposed to be a ride at 140 bpm was turning into a hard effort at 80% of max.

As I recall, you were in front during that section. :)

Just let me ride in the wind next time and I'll keep it mellow. Problem is, if you are like Kris, you'll get bored of the easy pace and come around me!

That was a good ride. I may go back tomorrow and do some intervals up Butterfield.
