Doing Time

I missed the last ICUP race. My wife's Grandmother passed away so I had to attend a funeral. It actually worked out since an upgrade I had to do Friday night went from a 2 hour update to a 8 hour update and I didn't get home until 4:00 a.m. Saturday. Sunday I thought I had rested enough Saturday afternoon and evening to get some miles on on the bike with Deer Mouse.

I left for Kamas at the crack of dawn

and a 7:00 start to the ride. We decided to do the Strawberry loop which consist of Kamas - Heber - Strawberry - Fruitland - Hanna - Wolf Creek and back to Kamas.

I felt good for the first couple of hours and with the Fruitland store being gone I think I stretched my liquids too much and really suffered on the climb up to the Wolf Creek. The tail wind from Wolf Creek to Kamas was a relief.

7.5 hours 125 miles and 7200 feet of climbing, not pretty. I need to get a lot more time on the bike before LOTOJA. Yesterday I was thinking about trying Butterfield but my legs are still a little fatigued from Sundays mashing up Wolf Creek. So I did a nice easy 2 hour spin around the west side of the valley.
