Takin it easy.

I’m taking some time off the racing circuit. I don’t know if you classify two weeks off but, unfortunately I get to work on Monday so I can’t race. The Sundance race is also out as I have a family commitment. This will allow me to hopefully get some good miles on the road bike and continue building my base for LOTOJA this fall.

Seeing Stupidbike’s blog about the race Monday brings back my own fond memories of Stan. I feel lucky that at our last race together we got to share a podium at the Brian Head NCS NORBA. Stan was a great guy and I remember as I was climbing out of the scout camp I caught him. We chatted for a few minutes and then Stan encouraged me to push hard and catch a guy that was just ahead of us. Even in competition Stan was always looking to help out a friend.
