Last night I was going to hit Butterfield Canyon after work. I didn't think the weather would be that bad, after all they can predict the weather as well as the stock market. Everything was going smooth until I hit the mouth of the canyon and got a flat. No big deal I'll change it out and continue on. That's when I discovered the tube I brought has a flat spot. I decided to try it anyway the worse that could happen is it could pop. I had second spare in my saddle bag just in case I double flat but I decided to see if the defective tube would work. I decided that riding up a closed road wouldn't be a good idea on a defective tube so I decided just to some hard intervals on the way back home. I was feeling good about the tube, too good. I got 2 miles from home and took a corner pretty hard and the tube popped which is what I expected to happen. I put in my second tube in and limped home.
Speaking of weather, it looks like rain this weekend which means a good chance it will be sunny.

Let me know the next time you give Butterfield a go. I'm all about evening rides until it warms up in the morning.
