Happy Freakin New Year

I thought I’d get a jump on the happy New Year wishes although Kentucky Bob beat me to the punch. I’m not going over the “I’m grateful list”. (Isn’t that a Thanksgiving thing?) I do predict I will finish a higher percentage of races that I start then 2006.

The New Year is bringing some big changes. I’m starting a new job so after seven years of working at the same place I’m moving on. Too bad I’m starting with zero vacation. I guess the Southern Nevada Stage race is out.

This week is back on the trainer week. I’m thinking about borrowing a light and taking a page from Utrider’s book and cruising up and down the canals on the mountain bike and maybe some of the nearby trails with the mountain bike after work. The weather has been good until today but I don’t have the daylight to ride after work. I wish I was heading down south to ride this weekend the upper 40’s sounds better then low 30’s.

When I lived in Payson I'd ride the canal roads quite a bit in the early spring. I'm not sure if you can call that kind of riding "good" but at least in the Payson/Salem/Spring Lake/Santaquin area you were riding through fields and along the base of the mountains instead of neighborhoods. Riding them at night is a good idea that I may need to try myself...
