I took some pictures from the ride on Saturday, but I’m too lazy to bother pulling them off the camera yet.
Friday I decided to take on Butterfield canyon again. This time I pushed myself to ride to where the pavement used end. Only one down tree on the road, and one redneck shooting a .22 on the road.
Saturday, Fists-of-Fury was in town from Cali so, the Bull Elk, KM, Thumbs McGee, FOF, and I did a ride up the mirror lake highway. It was okay until it started to sleet and hail. We didn’t even make it to the gate. The best part however was a toss-up between myself packing one road and one mountain shoe (fortunately one right and one left so I just took a pedal from the Bull Elk’s mountain bike and was good to go) and FOF decided to free ride the road bike by hopping over a curb and flatting after 1 block.
Sunday was supposed to be a ride at 5-mile pass (thanks for the invite Stupidbike!) But I decided to play it safe and just tooled around the southwest part of the valley until it started to rain.
As far as the hoopla over the East Canyon race. Try registering for the Leadville 100.
