Epic Rider inspired this blog title. I was looking back through his blogs and noticed he was on an 80’s hair band kick a while ago. What a sad commentary when you have Def Leppard touring with Bryan Adams and now Journey. They truly have moved into the “oldies” act.
After Saturday’s burnout at the pass I decided to really listen to what my body is telling me this week. Yea it’s really early in the season and I’m pretty much in the building phase still, but I’d really like to be fresh for the race Saturday. Monday I made a point of doing an “easy” ride up Rose Canyon and made sure that I was sitting on any climbs more then 30 seconds in length. My goal for the week was to attempt the peak of Butterfield last night. As I was riding out to the canyon I really noticed I was fatigued. My heart rate was staying low and I didn’t feel any power getting out of the saddle. After 30 minutes of mental debate about the ride I decide to just do a quick 90 minute high-cadence spin. I’ll try and see how I feel about climbing tonight after work.

Def Lep and Journey are money-grubbing whores. $80 for one night? I don't think so. Vivian Campbell will never been Steve Clark and that dude from Journey is not Steve Perry. You can't blame these guys in their forties for milking the only thing they know. Do you honestly think Rick Allen is going to go out into the real world with one arm and make a name for himself? Yes my friend, they are both "oldies" bands.
